You are NOT an orphan

God’s intention is for us to know him as our father.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him. – 1 John 3:1 NLT

Orphan - someone who has lost either or both parents, whose parents are unknown, or have permanently abandoned them – Wikipedia

The bible almost always describes an orphan as one without a father, especially in the old testament, God’s heart is to know him as our father (my father, your father) and what that means to us as children of God. As children of God we are never orphans as long as we look to the father. We see in the new testament Jesus often teaching us to refer to God as our father.

The fatherhood relationship was established when Jesus came on earth and died for us.

Characteristics (symptoms) of an orphan (feeling)

Fatherless – whether your father is alive or dead

No inheritance

No support

Discredited/ no promotion

Outcast / unheard

Characteristics of Sonship/daughter-ship

Legacy – from one generation to another

Fathers are important to inspire identity, to pass down knowledge, to uplift strength. All these are found in our relationship with God and as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Christian walk is one that is and should be intentional not led by feelings and situations but by obedience and trust.

If God says love one another – then love one another

When God says the same mouth that blesses God should not curse man made in his image, then curse (talk ill, harbour resentment) NOONE. Redemption is for yourself and for the benefit of your heart. Do not harbour resentment and offence. Allow God to direct you, guide you and teach you. Trust in him and follow his direction and walk on the path he has established for you. To God be the Glory.
